The ICP Guide

Hello everyone!

The best thing released this week on the Internet Computer was definitely the Toniq Labs EXT Token Tool. The tool lets you create your own token on the Internet Computer!

You can specify the name of your token, the decimal places for the token value, the symbol (or ticker) value for your token, and the total supply. Finally, enter your wallet  address, and voila! All of the token is sent to your Stoic Wallet and you can send it to anyone else on Stoic Wallet.

While these tokens are essentially worthless, it is surprisingly fun to create your own tokens and send them off to friends.

If anyone creates an especially good token, send me some! My wallet address is afb264de8057a9ba7f79a51c80-f99354004e686bb650172032aa-da5126e7f014 (remove the dashes). You'll also need to reply to this email with your token ID so I can add it to my Stoic Wallet.

Another good place to play around with test tokens is in this DSCVR group dedicated explicitly to clowning around with new tokens.

I wouldn't say that the EXT token standard is the official token standard for the Internet Computer yet, but Toniq Labs is making excellent progress and I believe they will play a big role in defining the token standard on the Internet Computer.
